About the event

The Zero Waste Kids Supermarket, run by Zero Waste Berlin e.V., invites families at the FEZ Berlin to experience sustainable consumption in a fun and interactive way. At various stations, children collect different numbers of ‘rubbish points’ for packaged goods and for eco-friendly alternatives. This makes the consequences of their shopping decisions immediately apparent. Through direct comparison, children learn how their choices affect the amount of packaging generated.
The project is funded by the Stiftung Naturschutz Berlin using funds from the Trenntstadt.

Please note: As the supermarket is located within the FEZ Berlin, a standard FEZ ticket is required for entry.

Directions

S3 towards Erkner or Friedrichshagen, Wuhlheide S-Bahn station
Walk from Wuhlheide S-Bahn station, approx. 12–15 minutes
Coming from Ostbahnhof, walk against the direction of traffic through the station building, go up the stairs and keep left – turn left over the S-Bahn bridge – do not cross the road! – immediately after the bridge, turn left and go down the stairs – keep left – walk under the bridge you have just crossed – keep to the left – go under the second railway viaduct – continue straight ahead along the wide, tarmac-surfaced footpath, running parallel to the park railway tracks, through FEZ Park – continue straight ahead past the playground – you’ll see the large FEZ/State Music Academy main building – turn right round the building, past the fountain, and you’ll find the main entrance.
