About the event

MAKE THE MOST OF LEFTOVERS – Upcycling workshop
Plastic used to be rubbish – but now it’s being turned into something useful! The artist Safak shows what practical items can be made from old plastic packaging: cases, earrings, costume accessories and much more.
Participants will discover the basics of upcycling and learn to rethink discarded items and reuse them creatively.

„SORRY FOR THE EXTERMINATION!“ – People can’t see the wood for the trees when it comes to habits
A confessional for climate sinners: an interactive art installation exploring consumption, the destruction of nature and the question of what each individual can do to make a difference.

COURAGE OF THE HEART
Safak Y., born in Berlin in 1972, combines performance art with upcycling. She has been committed to environmental protection since the 1980s and works with discarded materials. In 2020, she developed „Die dritte Hand“ as her own project, bringing together upcycling, fashion and art. In her workshops, she demonstrates creative ways to rethink plastic waste and put it to good use.

Directions

Public transport: the installation and workshop materials can only be transported by car.
Notes: Date and duration of the exhibition, workshops and the talk to be agreed (I had to tick a box). The exhibition could last several days. I would like to receive a fee for taking part in the workshop (unless I am provided with some form of financial support, such as a fee or similar). We should come to an agreement regarding the exhibition.
